Bill Volz has been involved in virtually all disciplines of the entertainment industry, including drama, musicals, dance, opera, concerts, corporate events and theatrical consulting. He teaches Technical Direction in the School of Design & Production. 

During his career, Volz has frequently served as a technical director and production manager for multiple companies. In his capacity as a theatrical consultant he designed technical systems and facilities for numerous theatrical and performing organizations whose productions have ranged from local dance and drama to nationally televised presidential debates. 

Credentials

  • Developed instructional programs in the areas of scenery fundamentals, lighting fundamentals, welding, metallurgy, stagecraft, vectorworks, shop practice and techniques, AutoCAD, inventor and production management.
  • Developed and taught specialized classes in construction techniques for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as fellow professionals.
