Gabrielle Loren Roulhac was born on November 1, 1995, in Jacksonville, Florida. Her mother, Catrina Roulhac, enrolled her in Jacksonville Centre of the Arts under the direction of Kezia Rolle, where Gabrielle studied ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop and West African. After completing four years at Lavilla School of the Arts, she was accepted to the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. Here, she worked with guest artists such as Christopher Huggins, Jennifer Archibald, Andre Tyson, Kanji Segawa and many others. After graduating high school, she was accepted as a Contemporary Dance major at University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem.
Since her freshman year, Gabrielle has worked extremely hard and was cast in works by Doug Varone, Merce Cunningham, Twyla Tharp and Juel D. Lane. She has attended Bates Dance Festival, Dance Theater of Harlem and American Dance Festival, where she worked extensively with Bessie Award-winner Abigail Zbikowski. She has also attended the Elisa Monte Summer Series and taken classes with Koresh Dance Company and with Troy Powell of Alvin Ailey Dance Theater while he was guesting at CooperMorgan Dance Company.
