Alexandra Pawlus is a lyric coloratura soprano and voice instructor whose work bridges performance and education. With over eight years of experience teaching private voice, Alexandra has guided students of all ages and styles to develop confident, expressive singing. Since 2019, she has also served as a Master Teaching Artist with the Metropolitan Opera, leading creative music education programs that introduce young learners to opera through singing, storytelling, and design.
As a performer, Alexandra has appeared with ensembles such as the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra, Bach Vespers at Holy Trinity, New York Lyric Opera Theatre, and Lyrica Classical Entertainment. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in the U.S. premiere of Emmanuel Dubois' Requiem for the Fallen and later appeared at Lincoln Center, originating the role of Celia Szapka in The Project: A New Opera, written by UNCSA Kenan Fellows. She has also ventured into opera on film, most notably singing Orfeo (soprano) in Orfeo ed Euridice with the Brooklyn Telemann Chamber Society.
Alexandra holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance with a Concentration in Vocal Pedagogy from the New England Conservatory and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from UNCSA. She loves teaching all styles of singing- from Broadway to pop-punk to Schubert-and has a special passion for Polish art song, which connects her personal and artistic heritage. Her teaching blends her international performance experience with an encouraging, student-centered approach that helps each singer find their most authentic voice.
