Anna Wade currently serves as the Chorus Teacher at Philo-Hill Magnet Academy (Middle School) with WSFCS. She was awarded the North Carolina Governor's Educator Discovery award in October 2023. Outside of school, she assists with WSCA (Winston-Salem Choral Academy formerly Winston-Salem Girl's Chorus) and sings in the choir at Centenary UMC. She recently moved to Winston-Salem from Lincoln, Nebraska where she grew up and found her passion for music through musical theatre, marching band, and swing choir. She went to college at Wichita State University in Kansas and cherished her time as a Music Education Major. She studied voice under Dr. Pina Mozzani, sang in choral ensembles, performed in operas, and played flute in Symphonic Band. She is a former Vice-President of Kansas Collegiate NAfME (National Association for Music Education) and was WSU's 2021 Presser Scholar for leadership in her Major of study. Anna participated in an Opera and Italian language study abroad program in Lucca, Italy. Additionally, she is 2 semesters away from earning a Master of Special Music Education and OAKE Kodaly Certification through Wichita State University. Anna is thrilled to be a part of the fine singing and wonderful community that is UNCSA Community Music School.
