Daniel Foerste is a director, writer and fine artist with over a decade of experience in the film industry. He was a 2017 Project Involve Fellow in Directing and the first recipient of Focus Features’ Lili Elbe Fellowship for transgender filmmakers. In 2019, GLAAD named him one of its “Trans Stories and Creators to Watch” during TransWeek.
In addition to narrative work, Daniel has directed music videos for queercore, goth, rock and punk musicians across California. His films, rooted in horror and fantasy, use genre to explore queer narratives and social dynamics, and have screened at festivals internationally.
As a teacher, Daniel aims to integrate both his industry experience and his artistic background to mentor and empower students to embrace new perspectives, prioritize story within the technical, and brave the adventure as they forge their own paths on an ever-evolving frontier.
Through our collective diversity and collaboration, we discover new techniques and solutions and bolster confidence in our own unique perspectives to serve our visions.
