Eyal Resh is a filmmaker specializing in live-action and animation, whose unique storytelling
is shaped by his experiences as a queer individual and immigrant. Originally from
Tel Aviv, he moved to the U.S. to pursue an M.F.A. in Film Directing from CalArts.
Resh's films explore the complexities of the human condition, with a particualr focus
on intimacy, sexuality and communication. His work has been featured at renowned film
festivals such as Sundance, Tribeca, Austin Film Festival, LAFF, Outfest and Viennale,
and is available on platforms including Hulu and Amazon Prime.
Throughout his career, Resh has collaborated with notable talents, including Tony
nominee Lauren Ridloff, comedian Jay Leno, actress Rona-Lee Shimon, and iconic sex
therapist Dr. Ruth Westheimer, for whom he directed a project for Spielberg's Shoah
Foundation.
My approach to teaching is rooted in collaboration rather than imposition. I don’t dictate answers or solutions; instead, I lead students toward their own realizations. I see the classroom as a space where discovery comes from dialogue, exploration and trying things out together. Positive feedback is central to my process.
