
Gabrielle Small earned her Master of Music degree from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in May 2024, where she studied under Tadeu Coelho. Prior to her graduate studies, she completed her undergraduate education at the University of South Florida, where she double-majored in Music and Environmental Science and Policy, studying with Marie Jureit-Beamish and Francesca Arnone.
In addition to her studies, Gabrielle has had an active teaching career, she coached the flute section of the Treasure Coast Youth Symphony and served as an assistant educator at the Florida Oceanographic Society. As a performer, Gabrielle has participated in a wide range of musical groups throughout Florida and North Carolina, including the UNCSA Orchestra and Flute Choir, Treasure Coast Academy Orchestra, the USF Flute Ensemble and Wind Ensemble, and the Florida Flute Association to name a few. She has also performed in masterclasses with renowned flutists such as Marina Piccinini, Paul Edmund-Davies, and Jennifer Grim. Gabrielle’s accomplishments include second place in the 2021 Bellegrande International Music Competition, as well as multiple runner-up awards in the Florida Music Teachers National Association competition state rounds in 2018, 2020, and 2021.
