I am so excited to be interning here at UNCSA Counseling Services for the 2021-2022 school year. I am currently pursuing my master's degree in counseling at Wake Forest University and expect to graduate in May. Having completed my practicum experience (mini internship) at Greensboro College last spring, I am eager to continue working with students as they navigate this exciting and often challenging time in their lives.
As a counselor, I prefer to take a holistic approach to care, taking into account all aspects of a person’s well-being, including physical and spiritual, in addition to mental and emotional. I work through a person-centered and meaning-focused framework, helping individuals work through a process of creating meaning and discovering purpose in their lives. I am particularly interested in working alongside individuals exploring their identity, especially LGBTQ individuals. I am also interested in navigating religious and spiritual identities and working with issues of religious harm and spiritual healing. Ultimately, my goal for my practice is to provide a safe space for individuals to ask questions, to explore who they want to be and how they want to show up in the world, and to pursue their best, authentic lives.
