Krystyna Puc

Krystyna Puć is the interim dean of the Division of Liberal Arts at UNCSA, where she has served in a range of academic and leadership roles since joining the faculty in 2003. She stepped into the interim role in July 2025, following her retirement from teaching in December 2024 after more than two decades of dedicated service to the university.

Throughout her tenure, Puć has been a steadfast champion of interdisciplinary education and a leader in shaping the DLA's curriculum and student experience. From 2011 to 2020, she served as assistant dean of the division, and from 2012 to 2021, she coordinated its for-credit online summer program. Her campus service includes membership on the Educational Policies Committee (including as interim chair and vice chair), Provost Council, Peer Evaluation Committee, DLA Rank Evaluation Committee and many others.

Before joining UNCSA, Puć served as an adjunct at George Mason University and The Catholic University of America. She has also worked as a division historian for The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission, as acting executive director for a museum village site in Ohio, and as a consulting and independent research historian on public history and engineering-related projects.

Puć holds a Ph.D. in American civilization from The George Washington University and a B.S. in political science from Northeastern University. Her teaching and research interests include American cultural history, material culture and decorative arts, American intellectual history, and Early Modern England.
