Parvathy Anantnarayan has been privileged to teach for over two decades in diverse
public, independent, and arts-focused schools and colleges, nationally and internationally
(in the USA, China, and India).
Most recently, she served as the Humanities Department Chair at NOCCA (The New Orleans
Center for Creative Arts), where she played a key role in curriculum development,
program design and strategic planning. Anantnarayan is also an active scholar and
has presented her academic and educational research at numerous national and international
conferences.
Beyond the classroom, Anantnarayan is a writer and storyteller with a long affiliation
with The Moth, a renowned storytelling organization. She has performed at The Moth’s Mainstage
events, in major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Jackson
Hole, Wyoming. She was recently published in the New York Times bestseller, "A Point
of Beauty."
I approach every moment in the classroom as an opportunity to create safety, build mutual respect, fuel wonder, navigate uncertainty, and understand one's power to nurture a better world through language and stories.
