William Brickhouse currently serves as the Interim Admissions Liaison for the School of Music. A graduate of the UNCSA Voice program, he has been actively involved in campus life through his participation in organizations such as ArtistCorps, Student Government and the Student Ambassador program.
During his time as a student, William performed onstage with Cantata Singers, the A.J. Fletcher Opera Institute, Piedmont Opera, and the Salem Bach Festival. His passion for opera extended beyond performance when he had the opportunity to assistant direct the Winter Opera Orlando Paladino, further deepening his understanding of full-scale opera production. After graduating from UNCSA, William Brickhouse completed the William R. Kenan Jr. Fellowship at Lincoln Center while also working in the admissions office at The Juilliard School.
What excites you about your job?
I find working in admissions at UNCSA so special because of the ability to connect with the next generation of artists while allowing them to discover all of the unique opportunities UNCSA has to offer.
What’s your favorite spot on the UNCSA campus?
The fourth floor of the library continues to hold the number one spot for me on campus. As a musician, I could spend hours looking through the score collection while taking in the view of downtown and the greater Winston Salem landscape.
How about Winston-Salem?
It is so hard to choose! Some of my favorites include Camino Bakery, Krankies Cafe, Reynolda Village, SECCA, Aperture Cinema, Design Archives Emporium and Bookmarks.
Where can we meet you?
You can find me at any of our North Carolina college fairs. I often attend music and art related events in Winston Salem so feel free to say hello!
