Performance Overview
Set during the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror, this bold, fast-paced comedy brings together four iconic women: playwright Olympe de Gouges, assassin Charlotte Corday, deposed queen Marie Antoinette and Haitian rebel Marianne Angelle. In the Paris of 1793, they gather to fight back against the rising tide of extremism.
As its playwright, Lauren Gunderson, describes it, "This grand and dream-tweaked comedy is about violence and legacy, art and activism, feminism and terrorism, compatriots and chosen sisters, and how we actually go about changing the world."
