Ari Khavin

Ari Khavin is a second-year Acting student in the School of Drama from New York City. He enjoys watching 80s movies, snowboarding and checking out the awesome coffee shops of Winston-Salem.

What brought you to UNCSA?

I was really drawn to UNCSA because of the opportunity to be surrounded by artists of all kinds at a conservatory. I wanted to be able to work with and learn from my classmates as well as my teachers, and I especially love the collaboration that happens between the School of Drama and the School of FIlm. The expansive curriculum of the Acting program, like integration of musical theater and on-camera training, also made me feel like I would be prepared for anything after studying here.

What is your favorite spot on campus and why?

I love the ACE Theater Complex, UNCSA’s movie theater. It’s been a great place to hang out with friends on a Friday night, and I’ve gotten to discover a lot of new movies they’ve screened there for students to enjoy.
