Damien Pascarelli

Currently in his final year at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Damien is an artisan focusing his studies on carpentry and props with electronics integration. His interest began to gravitate towards props and installations that are built to withstand rough handling and long term interactions with the public.

Working on the fake taser used in the production of "Barbeque" first piqued this interest in exploring how to make props as robust as their real counterparts. Later, building the swinging frames for the production of "Fairview" made him further consider the integration of electronics into these props. He hopes to explore how continuous use is accounted for in the design process, as well as how to protect and service integrated electronics.

Regardless of the application, he enjoys the challenge of a new project and is always interested in learning different skillsets.
