Santina Leone

Santina Leone, originally from Long Island, New York, is currently pursuing a B.F.A. in Contemporary Dance at UNCSA. Her training at UNCSA has exposed her to a diverse range of styles including Cunningham, Limón/Humphrey, and Countertechnique, as well as compositional practices.

Her performance opportunities at UNCSA include excerpts from classical ballets "Don Quixote" and "Paquita," and contemporary works like "The Bloom of Youth," choreographed by Brenda Daniels, and "Vital Ground," a new work by Darrell Grand Moultrie. One of her favorite experiences thus far has been understudying for a section of Trisha Brown's "M.O." staged by Abby Yager.

In addition to dancing, she is a certified Pilates mat instructor, has spent each year at UNCSA working in the Dance Costume Shop, and currently serves as a Marketing Coordinator for the UNCSA Pluck Project. Upon graduating, she hopes to continue to welcome every new experience with an open mind and gentle heart.
