Yaruo Zhou was born in Shenzhen, China. At the age of 16, she joined Professor Ida Bieler and Professor Janet Orenstein’s violin studio in the UNCSA High School program. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in violin performance at UNCSA, continuing her studies with the same faculty members.
Yaruo began studying the violin at the age of 5. After moving to Sweden with her family in 2014, she began her formal violin studies with Professor Haiou Meng who is a member of the Kungliga Filharmonikerna. She was a member of Stockholms Ungdoms Symfoniorkester (Stockholm Youth Symphony Orchestra) from 2015 to 2018, and has performed in venues across Sweden and Germany.
