Davide Bianchi is an Italian pianist and teacher. He’s a graduate from Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali “G. Lettimi” of Rimini, where he studied under the guidance of Alessandro Maffei. In 2021, Bianchi graduated cum laude from his masters program focused on piano performance and interpretation. His final dissertation was about body awareness in piano performance as a tool to improve the quality of the playing.
In 2020, Bianchi had the chance to have a private lesson with the pianist Maria Joao Pires, which expanded his musical view and the understanding of the connection between body use and musical result. Between 2020 and 2021, he studied for seven months with Giuseppe Ravì, creator of the method Respiro e Movimento, whose pursuit is to help artists to improve the quality of their performances through understanding how the body and the mind work together as a unit, and how to maximize the artistic result.
After graduating, Bianchi attended the Intensive Training Workshop held by the Lister-Sink Institute and applied for the Certificate Program in Injury-Preventive Keyboard Technique at Salem College, where he studied the Lister-Sink method with its creator, Dr. Barbara Lister-Sink. He is now a certified teacher of the method.
Before joining the UNCSA Community Music School piano faculty, Davide was also the assistant director of a private music school in Urbino Istituto per la musica Harmonia for ten years. His main duties were to teach piano, participate in the organization of the music school activities, and manage the administration and the relationship with students and parents.
Currently, Bianchi is enrolled in the Doctoral of Musical Arts program at UNC Greensboro, where he also holds a graduate teaching assistant position.
