Performance Overview
Conductor Robert Franz leads the UNCSA Symphony Orchestra in a lively program of Baroque works from France, Germany and Italy — three vibrant musical hubs of the 18th century. Highlights include dances from Rameau’s comic opera “Platée,” Bach’s buoyant Orchestral Suite No. 1 and Geminiani’s dazzling “La Folia.” The evening concludes with Haydn’s elegant Symphony No. 85, “La Reine” — a favorite of Marie Antoinette and dedicated in her honor.
