Aaron Spivey has been active in entertainment lighting design for over 25 years. His designs have been seen at many regional theatres including The Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Pioneer Theatre Co, Broadway by the Bay and more.
Spivey's off-Broadway designs include "Shadowlands," "Jukebox Jackie," "Wanda’s World," and more. Internationally he designed "A Chorus Line" in Mexico City. On Broadway, he has served as the associate or assistant designer on 30 Broadway productions including "Long Day’s Journey into Night," "Something Rotten!," "Aladdin," "Motown" and more.
Spivey was also the associate designer for Disney’s Aladdin for 9 years, recreating productions in Tokyo, Japan; Hamburg, Germany; Sydney, Australia; London, England; Mexico City, Mexico; as well as two US tours.

- Taught graduate and undergraduate courses at Texas Tech University, including Lighting Design Studio, Theatre Applied Studio and more, 2023-24.
- Taught graduate and undergraduate courses at University of Idaho, including Vectorworks and Lighting 1, 2022-23.
- Taught high school courses at The Professional Performing Arts School in New York City, 2003-04.
