Performance Overview

Join the Reynolda Quartet for a grand musical farewell-to-summer with guest violist Scott Rawls. In the summer of 1827 an infatuated 18-year-old Mendelssohn composed a love song that became the basis of his famous String Quartet in A minor Op. 13.  In the summer of 1875, Brahms sought refuge from the intensity of composing his grand first Symphony with the delightful and tender string Quartet in B flat Op. 67.  Come enjoy these works with us in this last aestival festival, because autumn is on its way!

Formed in 2019, The Reynolda Quartet is a partnership between two of Winston-Salem’s premier cultural institutions: Reynolda House Museum of American Art and UNCSA.
